Arsenal outcast Matteo Guendouzi is reportedly wanted by Benfica as part of a summer rebuild at the Portuguese club.

Benfica have reportedly joined Marseille in the race to sign Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi.

The 22-year-old fell out of favour at Arsenal towards the end of the 2019-20 for disciplinary reasons.

Guendouzi spent last season on loan with Hertha Berlin and is widely expected to move on permanently this summer.

Marseille are rumoured to have recently agreed terms with the Frenchman, but Portuguese outlet A Bola suggests that the Ligue 1 outfit face competition from Benfica.

The Portuguese outfit are rebuilding their midfield ahead of next season and are said to be eyeing up Guendouzi as a marquee signing.

Roma midfielder Steven N'Zonzi, who spent last season on loan with Rennes, is also rumoured to be on Benfica's radar. body check tags ::
