Manchester City will reportedly pave the way for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie by selling Emmanuel Adebayor to Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs will complete a £5m deal for Adebayor after agreeing to pay nearly all of the Togo international's £170,000-a-week wages, according to The Sun.
It is understood that City will move for Van Persie upon the completion of the Adebayor deal, with the Dutchman reportedly keen on a move to the Premier League champions.
City are said to be preparing a £15m initial offer for the wantaway striker.
