Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle has admitted that he may be forced to relinquish defender Gary Cahill in the January transfer window.
The England international was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal but an appropriate offer reportedly failed to materialise, while Tottenham Hotspur were believed to have put forward a last-ditch effort to sign the 25-year-old.
When asked if the club were expecting bids for the defender, Coyle replied: "That's something that will seem to be the case in January.
"I would love to work with Cahill every day of the week for as long as I could because he's a top player and fantastic young man.
"Sometimes thing are taken out of your grasp. We'll have to wait and see what January brings."
Meanwhile, Bolton will face West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns in the Premier League on Saturday.
