Midfielder Mohamed Elneny has reportedly put himself in line to earn a new contract at Arsenal.
Having spent last season on loan at Besiktas, the 28-year-old was expected to be sold during the summer transfer window.
However, after remaining at the Emirates Stadium, the Egypt international has been provided with eight starts and two substitute appearances in all competitions.
According to the Daily Mail, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has been left impressed by Elneny's performances, leading to him wanting to keep the player in the long term.
Although Elneny still has over 18 months remaining on his existing deal, the club's board are likely to act before the end of the year.
