Four clubs have reportedly registered an interest in signing Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson before the transfer deadline.
Nelson has scored eight goals and provided nine assists in 90 competitive appearances since he emerged from the youth ranks at Arsenal.
However, the attacker has had to settle for a squad role, demonstrated by the fact that he started just five of his 23 matches last season.
Nelson's situation has not changed in the early stages of the new season, having been restricted to two minutes of action in Arsenal's first two matches.
The former Feyenoord loan player ultimately finds himself down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, behind Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Four clubs register Nelson interest
As a result, the Arsenal man has been linked with a summer departure in a bid to find regular playing time elsewhere.
According to Sky Sports News, four unnamed clubs have registered an interest in signing Nelson before the summer transfer deadline.
There is a belief that any departure at this late stage of the window will be a loan move rather than a permanent transfer.
With the clock ticking, Nelson's potential suitors will have to move quickly if they are to sign him before the 11pm (BST) deadline.
Should Nelson leave before the transfer deadline?
From Nelson's perspective, it would probably be a good move for him to head out on loan to a club that can offer him regular game time.
The 24-year-old will struggle to showcase his true potential if he remains on the fringes of Mikel Arteta's squad.
However, the Gunners may be reluctant to sanction Nelson's departure especially as they are unlikely to sign a winger before the transfer deadline.
If Nelson were to depart, Arteta would be left with Saka, Martinelli and Trossard as his main wide options which may be insufficient for the demands of the modern-day calendar. body check tags ::
