Arsenal have reportedly been dealt a blow in their efforts to sign Bayer Leverkusen forward Kevin Volland.
Earlier this month, it was claimed that the Gunners were interested in securing a deal for Volland, who has netted 39 goals from 105 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen.
As a result of the 27-year-old having just over 18 months left on his contract, the German side are in a position where they realistically have to consider any offers for the frontman.
However, Sky Germany claims that Leverkusen have no intention of allowing one of their key men to leave at the midway point of the campaign.
The report suggests that Volland may be offered the opportunity to extend his contract in the coming months.
