Real Madrid have joined Arsenal in the race for Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila, according to reports.
The French club, who rejected a £20m offer from Arsenal in the summer, hope to keep hold of the international until after Euro 2012 – where he is expected to shine – to secure maximum value in return.
As a result, it is understood that Arsene Wenger will return for the Frenchman this winter, but will face stiff competition from Madrid boss Jose Mourinho.
Rennes are ready to hold out for close to £30m for the 21-year-old, who is under contract until 2015.
