Manchester City are reportedly planning a January move for Gunners captain Robin van Persie, should contract talks between club and player stall.
The 28-year-old scored a brace in Arsenal's 3-0 win over Bolton at the Emirates this weekend, but is understood to be disillusioned with life at the club following the departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri this summer, according to the Daily Mail.
The Dutchman, along with Theo Walcott, Thomas Vermaelen and Andrei Arshavin, will enter the final 12 months of his contract next summer.
Should Van Persie refuse to sign a new contract at the club, Arsenal may be forced to sell him or otherwise risk losing him on a free transfer.
Van Persie, who joined the club in 2004, has made 161 Premier League appearances for Arsenal and scored 67 goals.
