Montpellier vice-president Laurent Nicollin has admitted that the club are in talks with Arsenal over the sale of Olivier Giroud.
Recent reports had claimed that the French international would put the finishing touches to his move to the Emirates Stadium following the conclusion of Euro 2012.
Nicollin has now confirmed that the discussions between the two parties are progressing well.
"Discussions are happening in a cordial fashion," he told Midi Libre "Things are moving serenely."
The Gunners are believed to be parting with £12.8m to capture the centre-forward.
