Newcastle United are reportedly in discussions with Arsenal over a permanent deal for Eddie Nketiah.
The 22-year-old's contract at the Emirates Stadium is due to expire at the end of June, and he has been strongly linked with a move away from the Gunners during the January transfer window.
According to 90min, Newcastle are currently pushing to sign the centre-forward, with the Magpies moving ahead of Crystal Palace and West Ham United in the race for his signature.
The report claims that Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is a huge admirer of Nketiah, who is wanted this month in order to aid the club's fight against relegation from the Premier League.
The striker has made 10 appearances for the Gunners during the 2021-22 campaign, scoring five times in the process, all of which have come in the EFL Cup.
Nketiah, who is also thought to be interesting German clubs, has struggled for Premier League action this term but was a late substitute during the goalless draw with Burnley on January 23.
