Real Madrid have reportedly moved a step closer towards signing Paris Saint-Germain outcast Adrien Rabiot on a free contract.
The 24-year-old will leave the Parc des Princes in the summer when his contract expires.
Rabiot has not been used by Thomas Tuchel since the start of December and has been suspended by the French giants for the past month, having infuriated his bosses by liking a post from Patrice Evra celebrating Manchester United's Champions League triumph, before partying into the early hours.
A number of teams have been linked with the 23-year-old, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Barcelona, but it appears as though Madrid are leading the way.
Canal+ claims that a verbal agreement has been reached between the player and the club, with Zinedine Zidane's return to the Bernabeu thought to have played a big part in Rabiot's decision.
Zidane is keen to breathe fresh life into his squad, particularly in midfield, and he allegedly has more than £400m to spend on new targets.
