Arsenal are expected to offer Wojciech Szczesny a new contract after the Pole convinced manager Arsene Wenger that he deserves to be number one at the Emirates Stadium.
The 23-year-old was dropped at one stage last term after a series of blunders and Wenger had considered going into the market for a new first-choice goalkeeper in the summer.
The Gunners boss did sign Emiliano Viviano on a season-long loan deal from Serie B side Palermo, but the Italian keeper has yet to make an appearance for the Premier League leaders.
According to The Mirror, Szczesny's camp has already held discussions with Arsenal about extending his existing deal with the club, which is due to expire in 2015.
Szczesny has kept four clean sheets in 12 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign.
