Borussia Dortmund have reportedly given up hope of signing Olivier Giroud from Arsenal as the striker is instead weighing up other offers.
The 31-year-old was expected to be used by the Gunners as a makeweight in a deal to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the Emirates Stadium.
Following separate reports that BVB are about to abandon talks with Arsenal regarding the proposed sale of Aubameyang, the Daily Mail suggests that the Bundesliga side's pursuit of Giroud is now also over.
Discussions between Dortmund and the Frenchman's camp are said to have hit an impasse, with Giroud - pushed further down the pecking order should Aubameyang still arrive - looking at alternative options.
The report claims that the Germans may turn to Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi, though that is dependent on the Blues recruiting a new striker.
