Sergi Roberto has reportedly agreed a new deal with Barcelona until June 2023.
The midfielder's current contract with the Catalan giants is due to expire this summer, and he has not played for the club since October due to a long-term thigh problem, which ultimately required surgery.
Roberto has recently been back in training with Xavi's side, though, and he is in line to return to the field before the end of the 2021-22 campaign.
There has been a host of speculation surrounding the Spaniard's future in recent months, with Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Manchester City believed to be keeping a close eye on developments.
Roberto has also allegedly received offers to play in the MLS next season, but a recent report claimed that the 30-year-old's agent had recently met with Barcelona to resume contract discussions.
According to Sport, the midfielder has now agreed a fresh deal until June 2023, and he has been forced to take a 'significant reduction' on his salary due to the club's financial problems.
Roberto has made 316 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions since debuting in 2010, winning six La Liga titles, two Champions League crowns and six Copa del Rey trophies. body check tags ::
