Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen is reportedly a target for Barcelona.
The Catalan giants see the ball-playing Belgian as an ideal candidate to play left-back and will look to tempt Gunners boss Arsene Wenger with a bid in the summer, according to The People.
Despite being used primarily as a centre-back at The Emirates, Barca will look to use the 27-year-old as a full-back with doubts surrounding the long-term future of Eric Abidal after a series of health issues over the past couple of years.
Vermaelen was given the captaincy at Arsenal after Cesc Fabregas moved to Barca in 2011 and Robin van Persie switched to Man United a year later.
