Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Hwang Hee-chan has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Wolfsburg.
The South Korea international has represented the West Midlands outfit since 2021, contributing 10 goals and four assists from his 65 appearances in all competitions.
Hwang has netted Wolves' only goal of the season thus far, a consolation header versus Brighton & Hove Albion at the weekend, but he has started neither of the opening two league games.
According to the Daily Mail, Wolfsburg are toying with the idea of testing Wolves' resolve for the versatile attacker.
When Wolves signed Hwang from RB Leipzig, they shelled out in the region of £14m, and an opportunity to recoup that fee or make a profit may prove tempting when the club are keen on boosting their FFP position and giving Gary O'Neil a chance to make his own signings.
A potential transfer fee is not mentioned, but Wolves may opt against a sale if they would stand to make a loss on a player who is a major name in the Asian market, one which they had hoped to strengthen their foothold in during the summer before a pre-season tour of South Korea was scrapped.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa are reportedly open to parting ways with defender Lucas Digne before the end of the month.
While the full-back has not replicated his Everton form at Villa Park, the France international has still made a positive impact in his 19 months in the West Midlands.
The 30-year-old has started each of Villa's opening two Premier League fixtures during 2023-24, but that is a consequence of Alex Moreno currently being on the sidelines.
According to RMC Sport journalist Fabrice Hawkins, Nice are currently in discussions with Villa regarding the transfer of Digne.
As well as the clubs being in contact, the player is said to be receptive of a potential switch, with a loan deal accompanied with the option to buy a possibility.
Digne still has just under three years remaining on his contract at Villa Park, while Unai Emery would require a replacement to be signed over the coming days.
The Mirror suggests that Villa are interested in negotiating a deal for Arsenal defender Nuno Tavares.
Although the Portuguese enjoyed a productive loan spell with Marseille, there was no buy option as part of the deal and the French giants have since looked elsewhere.
That has left the 23-year-old facing a period of uncertainty with Mikel Arteta not viewing him as a preferred option at the Emirates Stadium, with the likes of Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney ahead of him in the pecking order.
While Nottingham Forest have been credited with an interest in Tavares in the past, the report suggests that personal terms could not be agreed between the relevant parties.
Tavares has two years remaining on his contract at the Gunners, who will likely jump at any chance to cash in on the player courtesy of their desire to recoup some funds before the closing days of the summer transfer window. body check tags ::
