Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been handed a boost in their efforts to sign RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano.
With just over a year remaining on his existing deal, the centre-back is attracting attention from a number of top European clubs.
The Frenchman has a £55m release clause in his contract, a value which RB Leipzig may insist on if they are to part ways with one of their key men.
However, according to Bild, the 21-year-old is prepared to hand in a transfer request if the German outfit play hardball over a fee.
Should Upamecano formally approach Leipzig regarding a departure, that will likely result in the Gunners and Spurs making a bid for his signature.
Barcelona are also said to be monitoring the situation.
