Lille striker Victor Osimhen has revealed that he rejected the chance to link up with Arsenal when he was a teenager.
Osimhen, now 21 years of age, is allegedly wanted by a number of top European clubs, having scored 18 goals for Lille in all competitions this season.
Although the Nigerian has acknowledged that the Gunners represented "a good option", the frontman has admitted that he instead opted for Wolfsberg to gain regular time in the first team.
Speaking to The Independent, Osimhen said: "Arsenal was a good option but it wasn't the best at the time. I wanted to start playing as soon as I turned 18.
"I wanted to go to a place where I had time to invest in my game and improve physically. Wolfsburg showed me that possibility."
Osimhen made three starts and 13 substitute outings for the German outfit before going out on loan to Charleroi, where his 17 goals during the 2018-19 campaign earned him a move to Lille.
