Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that the club are determined to keep hold of defender Bacary Sagna.
The North London outfit are said to have been in talks with Sagna over the last few months regarding a new deal as his current contract runs out in the summer.
Recent reports have claimed that former Premier League champions Manchester City are keen to sign the right-back.
However, Wenger is quoted by the club's Twitter page as saying: "We try to secure Sagna here because he is a very important part of the group."
The 30-year-old joined Arsenal from Auxerre in 2007.
