Wolfsburg are reportedly lining up a summer move for Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker.
The 28-year-old has been unable to settle in the Premier League since his move from Werder Bremen two years ago and is believed to be heading for the exit door.
Mertesacker's performances have regularly attracted criticism, but his progress was also stilted due to a serious ankle injury, which saw him miss the back end of last season.
According to talkSPORT, Wolfsburg sporting director Klaus Allofs is keen on recruiting the German international to the Volkswagon Arena.
Arsene Wenger is believed to be weighing up Swansea City centre-back Ashley Williams as his replacement.
