Zenit St Petersburg boss Luciano Spalletti has revealed that re-signing free agent Andrey Arshavin is the club's transfer priority this summer.
Arshavin left the Russian outfit in January 2009 to join Premier League side Arsenal, but his Emirates Stadium contract expired at the end of the season.
Zenit have been big spenders as of late, bringing in Hulk and Axel Witsel for a combined fee of £64m, but Spalletti has claimed that their business in this window will be more low key, with former favourite Arshavin their number one target.
"Andrey is an interesting player for any big club in Russia because he is charismatic and has quality," Spalletti told reporters.
"I believe there is a commitment within the club as a priority for a possible return to Russia, but I can't say whether there have been any negotiations."
Arshavin made 146 appearances during his three-and-a-half-year spell with the Gunners, scoring 31 goals.
