England manager Roy Hodgson wants to make as many as six changes to his side to play Poland this week, according to reports.

England manager Roy Hodgson is reportedly ready to make as many as six changes to his team for the trip to Poland on Tuesday.

According to The Mirror, Hodgson wants to revert to a more experienced side from the 11 picked to dismantle San Marino last week.

Hodgson had planned to replace the injured Kyle Walker by calling up Carl Jenkinson, with the Arsenal right-back training with the squad yesterday.

The Three Lions Coach had his plans scuppered by red tape, with Jenkinson needing FIFA clearance to switch allegiance from Finland, whom he has previously represented at youth level.

Captain Steven Gerrard will return to the starting lineup in Poland and could play alongisde familiar names, with Joleon Lescott, Glen Johnson, James Milner and Ashley Cole all reportedly due to be recalled.

Hodgson is unable to pick experienced midfielder Frank Lampard, who misses the tie with a calf problem, paving the way for Tom Cleverley to retain his place.
