England boss Gareth Southgate has reportedly decided that he is open to handing an international recall to Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.
After the Three Lions struggled to a 1-0 win over Slovenia on Thursday night, Southgate is under pressure to assess his options after qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.
According to the Daily Mail, that has led to the possibility of Wilshere being given a surprise chance with the national team after failing to make a Premier League appearance since April.
Wilshere fractured his leg during a loan spell with Bournemouth but while the 25-year-old has not featured in the top flight, he has made three appearances in the EFL Cup and Europa League.
The last of Wilshere's 34 England caps was earned at Euro 2016, when the playmaker was introduced as a second-half substitute during the 2-1 defeat against Iceland.
