Monaco summer signing Joao Moutinho has insisted that Monaco should be targeting a Ligue 1 win and Champions League qualification in their first year back in the top flight.

Claudio Ranieri's side have made a number of big-money summer signings, including Moutinho, Radamel Falcao and James Rodriguez.

Moutinho said that he is excited by the club's future and hopes that success can begin immediately.

"We have a some very exciting plans in place at Monaco," Moutinho told Ligue1.com.

"Our objectives are to qualify for the Champions League and to take the Ligue 1 title."

Moutinho won the Portuguese title for the past three seasons with previous club Porto.
