Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri concedes that a lapse in concentration cost his side two points at Sochaux on Saturday.

Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri has admitted that a lack of concentration cost them all three points against Sochaux on Saturday, but insists that he is not annoyed to lose top spot in Ligue 1.

Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco scored twice inside 11 minutes to put Monaco two goals to the good at Sochaux, but the hosts battled back to earn a 2-2 draw.

Ranieri has conceded that complacency played a part in Monaco's second-half collapse, but chose to focus on the positives as his side made it 10 games unbeaten on their return to the top flight.

He told Ligue 1's official website: "Am I angry? No. Football is a marvellous sport. We scored two beautiful goals very quickly and then we lost our concentration, but Sochaux played as I expected them to."

When asked if falling from top spot was a source of frustration, the Italian replied: "No, it is not a problem. We just need to improve from match to match.

"We never let up physically, but we maybe allowed ourselves to believe that the match was finished after we scored our second goal."

Paris Saint-Germain now lead the way in Ligue 1, sitting two points ahead of Monaco.
