Monaco and Lille have played out a goalless draw in Saturday's Ligue 1 encounter at the Stade Louis II.
The visitors largely had the better of the first half in the principality, with Jose Fonte heading over the bar in the eighth minute.
Neither side mustered much in terms of concrete chances for much of the opening 45 minutes, however, with Monaco toothless in attack and Lille due Zeki Celik and Thiago Mendes both spurning good opportunities.
The second half saw the 2016-17 Ligue 1 champions move up the gears, as Radamel Falcao nodded just over on 61 minutes before being given the chance from the penalty spot eight minutes later.
However, Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan pulled off a neat save and was not to be thwarted as both sides ended up sharing the spoils in a largely uninspiring encounter.
