Andre Silva, a previous transfer target for Wolverhampton Wanderers, is rumoured to have failed a medical at Monaco.
The 23-year-old AC Milan striker moved to the Italian side in 2017 but failed to cement a spot in the starting XI and last season was shipped out on loan to La Liga side Sevilla.
Premier League outfit Wolves are long-term admirers of the Portugal international but he has instead undergone a medical at Monaco, who are looking to rebuild after finishing a disappointing 17th place in Ligue 1 last season.
According to reports, tendon issues were discovered during the tests with Leonardo Jardim's side, putting in jeopardy the player's proposed €30m (£26.8m) move from AC Milan.
Wolves, meanwhile, are thought to be in advanced discussions to bring in Silva's teammate Patrick Cutrone.
