Aston Villa are ahead against Norwich City after 45 minutes at Carrow Road.
Libor Kozak scored his first goal for the visitors moments after coming on following an early penalty miss from Norwich.
A bright start to the match almost saw goals at both ends. First Gabriel Agbonlahor found Andreas Weimann in the box but the Austrian saw his curling effort bounce back off the post.
Then the hosts were given the perfect opportunity to take the lead when they were awarded a penalty after five minutes. Ciaran Clark was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the box, but luckily for Villa, Brad Guzan palmed away Robert Snodgrass's spot kick.
Christian Benteke then caused a few problems for the home side's defence, whipping a dangerous cross in after firing just wide himself, but the Belgian had to go off injured moments later.
His replacement, Kozak, made an instant impact, seeing his initial effort saved by Ruddy before collecting Agbonlahor's square pass and firing his side into the lead.
Villa were able to see out the remainder of the half without too much trouble and lead by a goal at the break.
