Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert was left ruing his side's missed chances following their shock 1-0 defeat to Leyton Orient in the League Cup.
Darren Bent missed goalscoring opportunities either side of half time, but the Villans boss refused to single out the striker for criticism.
"We had enough chances but never took them," Lambert told reporters. "When you don't take chances, at any level of football, then you get punished. You don't have a divine right to beat any team.
"Darren is deadly in those situations and on another night they would have gone in. But like I said, if you don't take chances things like that happen."
Romain Vincelot found the net in the 87th minute to fire the League One side into the next round.
