Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has praised the clinical instincts that Andreas Weimann showed during his side's 4-1 win over Norwich City in the League Cup last night.
The 21-year-old Austrian scored twice against the Canaries as Villa reached the final four of the competition.
Reflecting on Weimann's impact, Lambert admitted that he was not surprised by his contribution.
"One thing about Andi Weimann is that he is a natural finisher. His work ethic to the game of football is absolutely brilliant," Lambert told reporters. "Whether Andi is on x-amount of money it doesn't matter, you'll get the same out of him every week and that is testament to him.
"We gave him a little break and he came back and showed he is a natural finisher. He knows his own game pretty decent for someone so young. He was brilliant."
Weimann joined Villa as a trainee in 2007 from Rapid Vienna.
