Aston Villa defender Carlos Cuellar has expressed his gratitude towards his fans following a number of injury woes this season.
The 30-year-old was absent from the Villans side for the majority of the first half of the season due to a knee operation.
"Even when I was injured and doing recovery work, people would send me messages of support and that would give me confidence," said Cuellar.
"They would say things like 'we like you, we want you to stay, you are our favourite player' and that gives you strength to work even harder.
"It's hard when you are not playing but the kindness of people on Twitter helped me through that."
The defender, who has 145,000 followers on Twitter, is yet to sign a fresh deal with the Midlands club.
