Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has been installed as the favourite to replace Steve Bruce as Aston Villa boss.
Bruce was sacked by Villa on Wednesday following his side's 3-3 draw with Preston North End, a result which left the promotion hopefuls in the bottom half of the Championship table after 11 games of the season.
Thierry Henry - who was heavily linked with the job this summer when the club was bought by new investors - has been touted as a possible replacement, but Moyes is the bookmakers' favourite to take over at Villa Park.
Moyes has been out of football since leaving West Ham United at the end of last season, despite having steered the Hammers to Premier League safety in 2017-18.
The Scot has also spent time in charge of Preston North End, Everton, Manchester United, Real Sociedad and Sunderland during his managerial career, but has not spent longer than a year at a club since ending his 11-year reign at Goodison Park.
Brentford boss Dean Smith and Shakhtar Donetsk manager Paulo Fonseca have also been linked with the vacant post at Villa Park.
