Rams boss Lampard and Villa assistant coach Terry were teammates at Chelsea.

Frank Lampard and John Terry will be reunited on the touchline on Saturday when Derby take on Aston Villa.

The former Chelsea team-mates will be in opposing dug-outs at Pride Park with Lampard’s Rams locking horns with Villa, where Terry is Dean Smith’s assistant.

Lampard has impressively guided Derby to fifth, while Villa are beginning to show signs of life after Smith replaced Steve Bruce last month and brought in Terry to join his coaching staff.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Lampard said of his former skipper: “It’s the start of John’s next career and I’m sure it will be a success.

“He’s got all the attributes to be a top coach and, one day, a top manager. I think he will bring a lot to Aston Villa.

“Villa have lots of threats individually and collectively, so we need to appreciate what is in front of us.”

Leeds will be looking to end Saturday still on top of the table when they head to West Brom in the evening kick-off.

United are currently ahead of Norwich, who host Millwall earlier in the afternoon, on goal difference.

Leeds midfielder Pablo Hernandez told the club website: “West Brom are a good team and they have kept a lot of players from when they were in the Premier League last year.

“They are a big team and I am sure at the end of the season they will be fighting to go back to the Premier League again.

“It is another important game, every game for us is important and we want to try and take three points.

“When you are in this position, when you are at the top of the league, you need to win games and points and I try to keep people calm in these situations.”

Elsewhere there is a west London derby at Loftus Road where QPR face Brentford.

Nottingham Forest entertain Stoke, Bristol City host Preston and Swansea travel to Bolton.

Rock-bottom Ipswich head to fellow strugglers Reading, Middlesbrough welcome Wigan, Rotherham travel to Blackburn and Birmingham face Hull at St Andrew’s.
