Remi Garde will reportedly attend Aston Villa's Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane this evening ahead of his impending appointment at the Midlands club.
The former Lyon boss emerged as a frontrunner for the role shortly after Tim Sherwood was sacked following six consecutive league defeats.
Reports have claimed that the Frenchman, who has been out of work since leaving Lyon last year, is poised to sign a three-and-a-half-year deal.
According to PA, Garde could be announced as Villa's new boss today, but he will only be watching from the stands when caretaker boss Kevin MacDonald takes charge of the first team at White Hart Lane this evening.
Villa are at the bottom of the league table, four points from safety.
