Aston Villa will reportedly confirm the arrival of Remi Garde as their new manager on Monday.
The 49-year-old has been strongly linked with the vacant post at the club, since Tim Sherwood was dismissed from the role last weekend.
According to the Daily Mail, the former Lyon coach will sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Villans, having met owner Randy Lerner last week.
Villa are next in action on Monday evening against Tottenham Hotspur, but caretaker manager Kevin MacDonald is expected to be in charge for the fixture at White Hart Lane.
Should Garde take over, then his first game as manager of the club is likely to be against Premier League leaders Manchester City next Sunday.
The Frenchman has experience of the English top flight having played for Arsenal, where he helped the Gunners to win the double in the 1997-98 season.
