Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has conceded that his job could be on the line if he does not turn the club's fortunes around soon.
The Midlands outfit have lost six of their last seven games and sit just one point above the relegation zone as a result.
Lambert has said that he would like to remain at Villa Park for as long as possible.
"You're never sure how long you are here but I'd love to be here long term. But I also know I need to get results," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"I'm not naïve enough to think it does not matter. It does not matter about contracts any more. That's the way it has been.
"It's a great thing being manager of the club – I don't underestimate it. It's been hard because of the challenges put in front of me. But guys have taken their chances and have taken the club forward, that's the big thing."
