Former Aston Villa and England midfielder Lee Hendrie has been declared bankrupt at the High Court.
The 34-year-old has reportedly failed to pay off any his outstanding debts and a petition for bankruptcy was brought against him on December 19.
Mrs Registrar Derrett heard that there had been no contact from Hendrie, no letters had been returned and no payments made.
She said that she was making the bankruptcy order "in the absence of any contact".
Hendrie, who made one appearance for England in 1998, is currently playing for Kidderminster Harriers after a brief spell in Indonesia last year.
At the height of his career he featured for Sheffield United, Leicester and Blackpool as well as his most successful spell at Villa Park.
