Former Lyon manager Remi Garde is in advanced talks with Aston Villa over the vacant manager's job, according to reports.
The former Arsenal defender is on a sabbatical from management following his exit from the French giants back in 2014, and was most recently linked with Newcastle United.
According to the Birmingham Mail, sources in France say that the 49-year-old is in advanced talks with the West Midlands outfit and that his current employer Canal Plus have even confirmed the interest.
Villa, who sacked Tim Sherwood, his assistant Ray Wilkins and first-team coach Mark Robson on Sunday, are also said to be looking at David Moyes, Brendan Rodgers, Nigel Pearson and former United States boss Bob Bradley.
