Aston Villa winger Jack Grealish will reportedly represent England over the Republic of Ireland.
The 19-year-old has been deciding his international future over the past few months, with both Roy Hodgson and Martin O'Neill keen on securing him for the long term.
However, despite having played for the Republic of Ireland at Under-21 level, the Express reports that Grealish will choose England as they stand a better chance of reaching major tournaments in the future.
England would still need clearance from FIFA and it is believed that will not happen before Hodgson names his squad for the final qualifiers on Thursday.
Roy Hodgson's men will take on Estonia at Wembley on October 9.
