Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has claimed that Tom Cleverley can add goals to his game as he looks to prove his critics wrong.
Cleverley, who moved to Villa on loan from Manchester United last summer, has faced criticism for much of his career, but Sherwood believes that the midfielder is relishing the chance to play away from Old Trafford.
The Villa boss told reporters: "When you have been hailed as the next Paul Scholes it puts a lot of pressure on you doesn't it?
"He is a player in his own right. He's only young. He's got a big future ahead of him.
"He's capable of scoring I remember watching him for Watford when he scored about 10 goals in a season on loan. You can either score or you can't and he's more than capable of doing that."
Cleverley has not scored in 27 games since arriving at Villa Park.
