Gabriel Agbonlahor has insisted that the three points trump his two goals following Aston Villa's crucial victory over relegation rivals Sunderland this afternoon.
The striker scored a Premier League double for the first time since May 2013 as Tim Sherwood's side won 4-0 at the Stadium of Light to move six points clear of trouble.
Agbonlahor has now netted as many goals in his last two games as he did during the previous six months of the season, but has stressed that surviving the drop takes clear priority over his improving form.
"It doesn't matter who scores," he told reporters. "It's about getting points on the board, getting safe and starting again in the summer."
Christian Benteke also bagged a brace as Villa won for the third game in a row in all competitions.
