Aston Villa have rounded off their pre-season campaign with a goalless draw against Parma at Villa Park.
Gabriel Agbonlahor picked out Andreas Weimann for the first chance of the game on 11 minutes, with the Austrian winger's strike from the edge of the box being pushed behind.
Villa defender Phillipe Senderos found the net shortly after following a cross into the box from Ashley Westwood, only for the officials to rule the effort out for offside.
Brad Guzan was called into action to deny Jonathan Biabiany's angled drive down low, while 10 minutes into the second half the stopper was also needed to keep out Raffaele Palladino's prodded shot from 12 yards out.
As the game ticked towards its conclusion neither side could muster any real openings, with Darren Bent coming closest to finding a winner with his strike from the edge of the area coming back off the bar.
Villa kick off their Premier League campaign next weekend with a trip to face Stoke City.
