Aston Villa are lining up a move for Brendan Rodgers to replace Tim Sherwood as their manager, according to a report.
The 42-year-old saw his four-year tenure with Liverpool ended last week when he was sacked by the club following their 1-1 draw against Everton in the Merseyside derby.
However, his time out of the game could be short as Villa are considering moving for the Northern Irishman to replace Sherwood following their poor start to the season.
Sherwood has become under increasing pressure as his side have recorded just one win in the campaign, which came on the opening day against Bournemouth.
As a result, the club's hierarchy are exploring the possibility of sacking the 46-year-old and bringing Rodgers to Villa Park, reports The Sun.
The Midlands side are 18th in the Premier League after eight matches this season.
