Southampton centre-back Jan Bednarek has joined Aston Villa on loan for the 2022-23 campaign.
The 26-year-old's future has been the subject of much speculation over the last couple of days, with West Ham United believed to have been interested in bringing him to the London Stadium.
However, late in the summer transfer window, Villa were able to secure his signature on loan.
"Aston Villa is pleased to announce the signing of Jan Bednarek on a season-long loan from Southampton. The defender has been at Saints since 2017, making over 150 appearances for the south-coast club," read a statement on Villa's official website.
"A Poland international, Bednarek represented his country at the 2018 World Cup and started his career in his homeland with Lech Poznan."
"The club wishes Jan well for the rest of the season at Villa Park," read a statement on Southampton's official website, as the Saints confirmed his exit on loan.
Bednarek has made 152 appearances for Southampton in all competitions, including three outings this term, two of which have been in the Premier League.
The defender could be involved in Villa's next Premier League game against Manchester City on Saturday. body check tags ::
