Villa transfer news: Nottingham Forest 'fail' with approach for youngster

:Headline: Villa transfer news: Nottingham Forest 'fail' with approach for youngster:
Aston Villa reportedly reject an offer from Nottingham Forest for one of their academy graduates, a change in approach from earlier in the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa have reportedly turned down the opportunity to cash in on one of their academy graduates.

The West Midlands outfit possess one of the most productive youth systems in England, yet that has resulted in constant opportunities to part ways with their homegrown talent.

Since the summer of 2023, Aaron Ramsey, Finn Azaz, Jaden Philogene, Omari Kellyman, Keinan Davis and Cameron Archer have all been sold to help Villa remain on the right side of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability regulations.

Although some of those players have since returned to the club due to clauses inserted in their respective contracts, there has been a set approach to how officials behind the scenes have handled interest in their signatures.

However, it appears that the powers-that-be at Villa have not made a blanket decision to sell all of their prospects at the earliest opportunity.

Forest miss out on Bogarde

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest have failed to tempt Villa into the sale of Lamare Bogarde.

The East Midlands outfit were allegedly keen to complete the permanent signing of the 20-year-old, who has been with Villa's youth setup since 2020-21.

Instead, Villa are only open to allowing the Dutchman to go out on loan, providing that it is a scenario that suits all parties.

While a situation may play out where Bogarde stays at Villa to help fulfil certain squad regulations, the likelihood seems that he will move to a Championship club or a team abroad.

What has been Bogarde's current career path?

As it stands, Bogarde's only experience in the Villa first team came in the famous FA Cup third round against Liverpool in 2021 when the amount of players unavailable for Villa due to coronavirus-related reasons reached double figures.

Bogarde played 65 minutes of that game, one which Liverpool won 4-1, and the defensive-minded midfielder has since spent two loan spells at Bristol Rovers.

A total of 36 appearances were made across those stints at the League One outfit, valuable game time before he spent the second half of last season with Villa's Under-21s.

Villa are keen for Bogarde, who has one cap for Netherlands Under-20s, to extend his contract past the end of the upcoming campaign. body check tags ::
