Charles N'Zogbia has reportedly been offered a route out of Aston Villa by Gus Poyet.
A report last night claimed that Villa had decided to pay up the six months that remain on N'Zogbia's contract at Villa Park.
It was further speculated that the MLS is likely to be the French winger's preferred destination, but Poyet is keen for the 29-year-old to join him at AEK Athens, according to The Sun.
The report adds that AEK would initially look to sign the former Wigan Athletic and Newcastle United player on a loan deal, with permanent terms potentially being offered in the summer.
