Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has revealed that the Midlands side may be forced to buy in the January transfer window due to a number of injuries.
Goalkeeper Shay Given was stretchered off the field during the side's 1-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday.
The Irishman's teammate Jermaine Jenas was also carried off the pitch, with fears that the Tottenham Hotspur loanee could miss the rest of the season with an Achilles problem.
"We've got to try and trade carefully," The Mirror quotes McLeish as saying. "But if we have emergencies we have to seriously consider that as a club."
Villa are currently ninth in the league table on sixteen points.
