Aston Villa have reportedly identified defender Robert Huth as a possible transfer target.
Earlier this month, it emerged that Villa needed to make extensive cutbacks and the club's current financial situation is expected to lead to a number of sales this summer.
However, the West Midlands outfit will still look to put together a squad capable of earning promotion to the Premier League and according to the Daily Mail, Huth is on the club's radar.
The 33-year-old has spent the last three seasons at Leicester City - with 89 appearances being made in all competitions - but the German centre-back failed to make a single appearance during the most recent campaign due to injury.
Derby County and Middlesbrough are expected to rival Villa in the race to sign the former Chelsea man, who may also receive approaches from back in his homeland.
