Aston Villa will reportedly resume their contract talks with Christian Benteke when their survival in the Premier League has been confirmed.
The Belgian striker has been one of the outstanding players at Villa Park since his £8m move from Genk last summer, and the Villans are keen to extend the player's deal with his wages set to be doubled to around £40,000 a week.
However, the club are reluctant to discuss terms with Benteke until their safety is assured, according to The Telegraph.
Paul Lambert's side are currently two points above the drop zone in 16th and face Fulham on Saturday.
