Athletic Bilbao qualified for the final of the Copa del Rey with a 6-2 (8-3 agg) victory over Mirandes at Estadio San Mames tonight.
Bilbao went into tonight's tie 2-1 up from the first leg knowing that a draw would take them safely through.
However, the Segunda Division B side have already caused cup upsets at the expense of Villarreal, Espanyol, and Racing Santander this season.
The hosts soon raced into a 2-0 lead with just 14 minutes played, courtesy of goals from Iker Muniain and Markel Susaeta.
They then pulled further ahead through a Jon Aurtenetxe strike before Aitor Blanco reduced the deficit to 3-1 to give the visitors a glimmer of hope.
However, Spanish international Ferndando Llorente put the tie beyond doubt with a quickfire double. Blanco netted a second for Mirandes but a César Caneda own goal restored Bilbao's four-goal lead and ended the minnows' cup heroics.
Bilbao will face either Valencia or Barcelona in the final in April.
